Meet:
Diederik Rijpstra
Coach, Trainer & Change Agent
BACKGROUND
I am a jazz trumpet player. I used to make many CDs and perform. I started focusing more and more on composition and for 9 years I have been working as a trainer and coach. That started with my own company coaching teams in the music studio. After having worked for Effectory for several years, I now work for Mind Work Productions with a great deal of pleasure.

We are for real
I am rather bad at finding things if I don't see them in the places where they should be in my view. Then I fail to see beyond my own frame of reference, much to my wife's frustration. Fortunately, I can (often) admit that it's down to me and not the stuff.
We are of the wall
Because of my background as a musician and artist, I often look and listen in a slightly different way. Furthermore, for me, silence is actually progress and I can imitate a peacock very loudly.
We innovate for tomorrow
I recently took on an assignment where I had to get 100 people to play a piece of mine unknown to them. They had 30 minutes to rehearse and they also had to figure out how to do it themselves. Of course, I didn't know if that was going to work out. But I did notice that I found it fun and challenging to come up with a nice structure for that. Fortunately, the result was good.
We float like a butterfly and sting like a bee
I am good at moving with someone, listening, taking my time. But sometimes! Then I have to take a stab. For me, that looks like taking the reigns and giving my participant or group back what I see them doing. Or by dancing for a moment, suddenly playing football and turning on Star Wars really loud.
We score without compromises
I always set goals for myself, both practical/financial and personal. That keeps me on my toes and that motivates me.
